Buddy enables you to handle more complex payrolls with the benefits of having a deep integration into FreeAgent.

If your payroll requires holiday data, timesheets or just more complex scenarios, you can handle these through Buddy, then submit your payroll journals into FreeAgent after every payroll ensuring your accounts reflect the latest payroll costs.

How Buddy works with FreeAgent

Once you've connected your FreeAgent account, Buddy pulls through your accounting categories. You can then map all the various pay items, departments and employees to the accounting categories in Buddy.

Once a payroll is concluded, the payroll journals can then be sent directly to FreeAgent saving you time, and ensuring that your FreeAgent account reflects your true payroll costs every month.

Accountants, bookkeepers and payroll bureaus also have the option to set up automated journal entries through EverRoll™.

How do I get started with Buddy?

You can connect FreeAgent to Buddy by following these steps:

1. If you've not used Buddy before, you can start by creating an account.

2. Go to ‘Accounting’ > ‘Integrations’.

3. Select ‘Connect with FreeAgent’.

4. Buddy will automatically fetch your accounting categories from FreeAgent.

5. Update and save the payroll journal mapping for your specific requirements.

6. Once you run payroll, you can select ‘Send to FreeAgent’ to send the payroll journals into FreeAgent.

7. On submission, your payroll will show a checkbox next to FreeAgent confirming a successful submission.
