You can choose from a range of checkout options, including Apple Pay, Google Pay and Stripe 1-click checkout, to help you get paid faster. And you can customise the checkout portal with your own branding to add a personalised touch.
How Stripe works with FreeAgent
Once you’ve connected your FreeAgent account to Stripe, you can send your customers invoices containing a payment link which lets them pay you online.
When your customer receives your invoice via email, they can click this link to be taken to Stripe's checkout portal which will provide them with options to pay the invoice by entering their credit or debit card details or using Apple Pay, Google Pay or Stripe 1-click checkout.
How do I get started with Stripe?
You can start accepting credit and debit card payments for your FreeAgent invoices using Stripe by following these steps:
- Log in to your FreeAgent account, go to the drop-down menu at the top right and select ‘Connections & Add-ons’.
- Select 'Learn more' in the 'Stripe' section, then select 'Connect with Stripe'.
- If you’ve never used Stripe before, enter your email address, select ‘Next’ and follow the on-screen instructions to create a new Stripe account. If you already have a Stripe account you'd like to use, enter the email address associated with that Stripe account and select ‘Next’ to connect your Stripe account to FreeAgent.
- Create an invoice, or recurring invoice profile, and select the 'Stripe' checkbox in the 'Payments' section.
- When you’re emailing your invoice, select the checkbox next to 'Include online payment button below content' or include an [online_payment_link] tag in the body of the email. This will embed an online payment link in the email that’s sent to your customer.
